FUTRISTC is built the way we'd want to be sold to: honestly. Every product we ship is designed from a real problem, not a market template — a safe-to-spend number instead of another budgeting dashboard, a grocery list that actually knows who's in your household instead of a generic meal plan.

We write the database schema, the auth, the AI integration, the admin tooling and the test suite ourselves — because the boring 80% is where trust is actually built. If a number is a projection, we say so. If a feature could quietly get an allergy wrong, we make it a hard filter with no override.

Dermal Pal's actual differentiator isn't that it uses AI — most skincare apps do now. It's what it refuses to let AI decide. A deterministic, auditable rules engine makes every structural and safety decision; AI is used exactly once per routine, after the fact, purely to write the human-readable explanation. It cannot change what happens or when.

Engineering standards, not vibes

Security by default

Rate-limited auth across login, signup and password reset. PBKDF2-SHA256 hashing at 100,000 iterations. Row-level security enforced at the database layer, not just in application code.

Tested, not eyeballed

The actual money math and safety logic — safe-to-spend calculations, income averaging, allergen matching — run through automated test suites, so financial and safety logic is regression-tested by design.

Rules over guesswork

Where a wrong answer has real consequences — an allergy, a bill, a balance — logic runs on deterministic, auditable rules rather than a model call at generation time. AI is used where it earns its place, never as a black box.

Built to fail gracefully

Global error-catching middleware wraps every API route. Data is soft-deleted, never silently destroyed. Self-hosted error monitoring means we find bugs before users have to report them.
